GDPR lead me as a web developer to search for user-data in applications. One way to find user data is through the application itself. This works, if there is only a handful of applications and the data flow is well understood.

In my case, i have a lot of of grown applications with databases and a lot of logs. Developed by multiple developers in different decades. And not all of it is well documented. When our team got the first test of a GDPR request, we immediately thought about automation.
